Individual Services
Applied Behavior Analysis
We offer ABA services in each client’s natural environment, working with all stakeholders to ensure we are selecting programs and targets that are meaningful. We work in homes, schools and communities, providing targeted support or full-time shadows depending on the needs of each client. We also specialize in providing behavioral support in home school or other non-traditional education settings.
Counseling
We work with a wide range of clients, but have a particular focus on working with neurodiversity and/or trauma. We believe in being an active listener, and focusing on each client’s personal goals. This counseling practice works to build a helping relationship with clients and support through personal insight, examination of experiences and practice of new coping skills.
We approach counseling from a health equity perspective, and believe that true counseling must be anti-racist to be healing. We also focus on empowerment when approaching life choices. We act as allies to those who work in the informal economy, those in the LGBTQ community and others who experience discrimination due to their identities.
These interventions are not behavioral in nature and are not covered by a BACB Certification, they are provided under the license of a licensed professional counselor (LPC).
Caregiver Support
All our ABA programs require caregiver engagement and training to ensure we are selecting and generalizing skills that are important to the culture and family system. We also provide parent and family counseling and additional caregiver education.
We are dedicated to assisting our client’s caregivers as they navigate the education system (particularly IEPs) and other health and wellness systems.
Professional Services
Behavior Consulting
This program is appropriate for families and children that are having difficulties at school or in their home. The program is short term, with a specific, focused goal in mind. These goals range from parent training, toilet training, in-home language support to teacher training for classroom aggression. Some services may be covered by insurance but others, such as teacher training, are usually covered by the school. This program has a variety of tiers, which are determined base on the goals identified at intake. Tier 1 includes an intake meeting to determine goals, 2 hours of observation, a written report with suggested interventions and a 1 hour meeting training relevant parties in the suggested intervention.
Professional Development - BCBAs/Teachers Etc.
We offer a Summer Speaker Series open to any providers or professionals in our community. The series focuses on specific topics of importance to the neurodivergent population and aims to spotlight autistic voices. We also offer workshops and other professional development to clinics, schools and providers on using a child-rights approach.
Group Services
Crescent Bloom primarily provides services in a school setting. We are aware certain skills (social skills, life skills) are not always possible to target sufficiently in a school setting.
To provide opportunities for our clients to learn these skills, Crescent Bloom organizes Social Skills Groups, Camps, Field Trips and Community Outings.
Upcoming schedule is posted as part of Crescent Bloom Newsletter and can be found on Events page of the website.
Social Group
During the school year, in addition to individual services, we offer the option for our clients to come hangout with their peers and work on social skills, play games, make art, explore the neighborhood, and create meaningful connections.
During the session the client is accompanied by at least one line therapist. Multiple BCBAs are present to provide supervision and assistance as needed.
Currently the sessions take place in our office every other Tuesday 4:30pm-6pm unless otherwise stated in the email to the parents/caregivers.
Crescent Bloom Camp
We offer day camp activities for our clients on predetermined dates when schools in New Orleans area close for breaks. During the summer we offer camp from beginning of July through the first week of August, Monday-Friday.
